Also the reason that the cat did this is actually because they are mirroring their owner. If their owner treats the thing (or in this case book) with respect and has made it very clear with their actions that the thing is important the cat will take notice and mirror this behavior!

The reason we have child labor laws in place is because capitalists were using children to do the work. We have laws because they will resort to hiring children and paying them shit wages. They’re fighting to have those laws revoked because <insert sarcastic tone> “the economy is suffering” <end of sarcastic tone>. We have laws in place to prevent this fuckery and here we are, dealing with it all over again, because capitalists flinch at the idea of providing livable wages.
